Prayer to Know One's Vocation

Lord, my God and my loving Father,
you have made me to know you, 
to love you, to serve you,
and thereby to find and to fulfill myself.
I know that you are in all things,
and that every path can lead me to you.
But of them all, there is one especially
by which you want me to come to you.
Since I will do what you want of me,
I pray you, send your Holy Spirit to me: into my mind,
to show me what you want of me; into my heart,
to give me the determination to do it,
and to do it with all my love, with all my mind,
and with all my strength right to the end.

  

       
 

DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME - Prayer for Vocations

Lord Jesus, as You gave us Your life You said, "Do this in memory of Me." May all Your disciples fulfill Your command of love. Raise up humble men to the Priesthood, faithful people to the Consecrated Life, and holy men and women to married life.

May all hear Your call to holiness and have the courage to respond with generous hearts. Amen.

Prayer for Vocations

Compassionate Heart of Jesus, graciously listen to our prayers.Give us generous hearts  to respond to your call in our lives.Lift up courageous men and women  willing to follow after your heart as priests, sisters, brothers, and deacons. Help parents and teachers to share the faith and to encourage young people to explore religious vocations. 

Guide all people, Lord, in your ways of compassion, truth, and peace,     that we may find happiness in fulfilling our vocation.

PARENTS' PRAYER for their Children

Heavenly Father, You have given us the privilege as well as the responsibility of being the first teachers of our children in the ways of faith.

In the name of Jesus, we ask You to guide us as we invite our children to hear Your call to holiness. May our children respond with deep faith and generosity.

Help us to be a source of encouragement to our children by our own faithfulness as disciples of Christ, and as members of His Church. Amen.

DISCERNMENT PRAYER for Young People

Lord, I know that You love me. Give me the wisdom to discern Your will for my life. Help me to trust in Your will, and to be open to whatever You are asking of me, since it would be the greatest joy of my heart. If You are calling me to the Priesthood or to the Consecrated Life, give me the courage and generosity to follow wherever You lead me.
